Climate Change

Climate Change

Do you think Climate change is a problem and why?

Climate change is any long-term significant change in the “average weather” that a given region experiences, in this case it’s our environment.

Climate change is caused by human activities such as factory emissions in richer or more industrialized countries. And now that I’ve said that your thinking of countries like the U.S.A and china but it’s also in other countries too, just imagine how much fossil fuels we use in Canada to plow the roads every winter. It’s also caused by vehicle emissions and other such transport like planes and boats.

Now you must be wondering if this has an effect on our environment. One of the effects is the melting of our glaciers. That can cause the oceans to rise by 88cm every 100 years, and this can possibly flood many coasts and bays. If this happens this will mean lots of unhappy people that have to move out of their homes and it will constrict the amount of land that they could move to. Some third world countries won’t have any place to move to and that could mean lots of deaths and more poor people in those countries.

Some experts say that Climate change is a natural cycle and we should just let it happen and not to interfere. But there are other opinions like the opinion of Al Gore, he thinks we should take immediate action and if we don’t we will pay the price. Now the question is who are we to believe and what are we to do? There is quite a bit of evidence that Climate Change is happening but is it worth trying to fight it? Or has it already got out of control and there’s nothing we can do about it. There’s probably less evidence that Climate Change is a natural cycle because it’s happening right now. What do you think is the right course of action?
